Oly Old Time Music (all level banjo, fiddle, guitar, etc.)

Description: Excerpt:

"Oly Old-Time has been meeting... since October of 2006. Oly Old-Time's first incarnation was "Banjo Class" at the Olympia Free School,..."

The Olympia Free school was later renamed Freeschool Community. The Freeschool Community is now going through a renaissance of sorts.

“Without dedicated volunteers there is little hope
for anything to get done. It seems as though the
freeschool is going through a renaissance of sorts. Updating and creating new systems to ensure it's success. I'm fortunate to have stumbled upon it at this time, and I'm happy to be a part of the process...
I love to connect with people and share a learning space with them.”

-, a student and recent Graduate from Evergreen
College, on an internship at the
Freeschool Community

The awesome and amazing people who first led the Oly Old-Time class and helped volunteer at the Freeschool have "all but disappeared" (as quoted from the O.O.T.M's wonderful webtech wordsmith), but the Freeschool Community is going strong and welcoming new music classes and classes of every type everyday.

Currently, at the Oly Old Time music class, which now takes place on Wednesdays, you can...

"Learn how to play Banjo, Fiddle, guitar, mandolin, washtub bass, or ukulele. Beginners, people of all ages, and very experienced musicians are all welcome and needed for a valuable learning environment. Come to Jam, Teach, Learn, Form a Band, Sing, or just Listen. Whether you have been playing your whole life or have never touched an instrument before. There is an instrument library available for use if you do not have your own instrument or if transporting your instrument is complicated due to its size or its fear of rain.

Oly Old Time Facilitator - Two wonderful members of the class.
Schedule - Wednesdays, 7-9pm (but the class will not take place on the below dates).

Location - A wonderful house located at 225 17th Ave SE, Oly 98501. IMPORTANT: However, we regret that the FREESCHOOL CLASSES WILL NOT not be able to take place at the below location on the following night:

* May 12, 2010.
